Love it! Whole heartedly written with amazing art representations ) must read, it made my day! Definitely recommended for everyone.
I remember reading this book all the time as a child and just purchased it for my soon-to-be son. I am so excited to read this with him as it is truly a classic.
WOW! This book is a classic and need to be in every home. My children grew up on this classic and each of my 8 children have this book in their home. Now I am ordering for friends who have just had babies. Wonderful book. Inspirational message and Leo Lionni artwork. Great
Not only is this a good book with nice colors and pictures and a great life lesson and storyline - it also ties in with a lot of crafts and activities and so on, which can be independently accessed through other websites like Google and Pinterest. Price also can't be beat.
This is a beautifully illustrated story of a small fish whose family is eaten, and finds himself suddenly all alone. Despite this hard beginning, Swimmy discovers that there is great beauty in the world and when he meets new friends who are hiding in fear, he helps them discover the beautiful world too.
What a charming book! I love the simple yet beautiful pictures. I love the introduction to different sea creatures. But, most of all, I loved the message. Team Work!
Once again, Lionni gives a simple message with heavy meaning--but really only as heavy as you want it to be. My child thought the story was nice, but didn't see the depth in it that I see. He is 7, so he needed some "coaching" to find the layers of meaning. The language is colorful and simple and his art takes you past the typical, easy to identify images that are seen in children's literature.
